High-Speed Media Converters

Amphenol Aerospace High-Speed Media Converters are a ruggedized family of converter modules designed for military and commercial applications on land, air, and sea. The portfolio includes solutions for speeds from 1G to 10G as well as SD/HD/3G-SDI, 1000BASE-T, SGMII, RS422 signals, and more. Single and multi-channel configurations are available, as are splitters, extenders, and concentrators - all of which meet IEEE standards and can operate under extreme temperatures and altitudes. These Amphenol Aerospace media converters are offered as stand-alone or embedded solutions, including those acting as drop-in replacements for standard Vita66.4 technology. Power, fiber optic, and/or copper test cables are typically available for each converter type.

Multi-Channel 10G Media Converters

Amphenol Aerospace Multi-Channel 10G Media Converters are built for transmitting and receiving encoded interfaces over fiber optic cables. These embedded media converters are offered in 2- and 4-channel configurations, receiving data over a Samtec HQDP ribbon for attachment into a subsystem. An MDIO / I²C interface also is on the HQDP ribbon for configurability and BIT adaptation. This family of converter modules includes models that accept XAUI Ethernet, 10G-Base-KR Ethernet, and agnostic encoded data. The converters output to a shell size 11 MIL-DTL-38999 with an embedded MT contact suitable for use in ruggedized environments. These units can be configured with any plating, shell rotation, HQDP ribbon length, and HQDP connector type. Amphenol Aerospace Multi-Channel 10G Media Converters are built for harsh environment avionics, ground systems, and naval applications.
